2025: Our Year So Far

Written by Megan O’Roark

We’ve made it to the end of June. Usually at this juncture we’re reflecting on the first half of the year and all the wonderful things we’ve accomplished and partnerships with our clients and friends in the sector. And, yet, this year feels different, and not just because we’re all trying to stay as cool as possible in the sweltering heat dome. As the calendar page turned in January, a different tone, mood, environment took shape and produced an onslaught of varied and intense emotions very close to our home and our hearts: the nonprofit sector.

The sudden hostility toward the funding streams and work of nonprofit organizations, coalitions, and government entities has left a wide wake: crucial programs abruptly ended, organizations shuttering, lay-offs, services removed for the most vulnerable of our community, and so much more. We don’t need to rehash it all here as I’m confident your social media channels are probably screaming loud enough.

Despite swimming backwards, against the tide, in the toxic soup, we at Elevate are grateful for all the ways our partners, clients, and friends have shown up this year for themselves, others, and us. It’s a testament to the resiliency of nonprofit leaders that even though things have been extraordinarily challenging, you’ve still found ways to lead thoughtfully, strategically, and intentionally. We’re grateful for the ways we’ve been able to support you this year, including:

So, friends, we’re in the thick of it with you and we share your fears, anger, anxieties, and joys. And, we’re grateful for the opportunity to do so. We’re digging in, working hard, and above all else, we value our relationships with our community that we’re committed to serving.

In closing, there are many incredible resources at our disposal (see below for some of our recs) who are providing up to date information as well as tireless advocacy work on behalf of our sector.
