Elevate Consulting, LLC seeks a full-time, salaried Evaluation Consultant to lead and support projects in alignment with our core values and quality professional practices.

What Evaluation Consultants Do at Elevate

  • Employ best practices in evaluation and applied research to support client needs, including a range of hands-on training, consulting, and contract evaluation projects

  • Collaborate with team members to undertake short-term or long-term projects to address a variety of evaluation needs across programs, organizations, and collaboratives.

  • Lead client-facing projects in collaboration with other Elevate team members, including:

    • Developing and maintaining strong relationships with clients and other stakeholders in alignment with Elevate’s core values

    • Managing project timelines  and providing high-quality, useful deliverables on time

    • Coordinating a small project team of Elevate team members to accomplish project goals

  • Facilitate meetings with clients and project stakeholders to understand and meet their needs

  • Develop recommendations to support clients’ learning, capacity-building, and improvement

What We Expect in a Consultant at Elevate

Education + Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree and 6-8 years of work experience in a related field OR Master’s degree and 2-4 years of experience in a related field (e.g., nonprofit management/leadership, applied research, evaluation, community development, community psychology, social work, etc.)

  • Experience utilizing social science research and evaluation methods 

  • Experience working with nonprofits, foundations, government entities, and other mission-driven organizations

  • Experience supporting data-driven processes across a range of settings, including strategy/planning and systems change/collaborative work


Skills

Consultants at Elevate are responsible for a wide range of project types, requiring different skill sets. We are looking for candidates who have demonstrated knowledge, skills, and expertise in Evaluation and experience with providing evaluation support in Strategy and Planning and Systems Change:

Evaluation

Nonprofit/Philanthropic Strategy and Planning

Community-based Collaboration and Systems Change

  • Oral and written communication skills

  • Relationship management skills

  • Time and project management skills

  • Designing and facilitating evaluation strategy sessions to identify evaluation questions, needs, and priorities

  • Developing theories of change, logic models, and evaluation plans for clients 

  • Selecting and implementing the appropriate quantitative and qualitative research methods to meet project needs

  • Managing qualitative and quantitative data sets  

  • Analyzing quantitative and qualitative data 

  • Developing compelling and approachable data visuals that support client interpretation and learning

  • Compiling findings in reports

  • Leading evaluation design & projects

  • Facilitating conversations to support clients in interpreting findings and articulating learnings and use

  • Proactively identifying barriers to evaluation success and developing plans to mitigate them in alignment with client capacity and needs

  • Developing and participating in strategic planning processes for nonprofit organizations 

  • Designing and implementing methods/tools to collect relevant landscape data to inform strategic planning 

  • Utilizing a variety of methodologies to support teams and organizations in developing and drafting progress indicators and success metrics to support an organization’s strategic goals and strategies

  • Knowledge of basic nonprofit governance best practices and experience working with nonprofit boards

  • Utilizing best practices to engage community members and generate input on a population-level need or topic

  • Designing processes to support community members in identifying and agreeing on shared measurement toward community-level goals

  • Developing processes and activities to move a group towards that shared goal

  • Facilitating meetings and workshops 

  • Utilizing data to inform strategy and implementation 

  • Designing and implementing evaluative processes to understand the effectiveness of collaborative and systems change efforts

Working Conditions

Elevate is based in Nashville, TN. Much of Elevate’s work internally and with clients is conducted remotely; however, staff are expected to attend regular in-person meetings and accommodate client requests for in-person meetings. As such, we are prioritizing applicants who live in or are willing to relocate to Nashville within 6 months of their hire date.

Salary + Benefits

  • Salary Range: $75,000-$80,000

  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance available (partial coverage by Elevate)

  • Three months paid parental leave

  • Internet & phone stipend

  • Flexible, hybrid work schedule with generous time off

    • 24 days of PTO

    • 3 paid sick days per month

    • 8 paid federal holidays: MLK Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Juneteenth, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, and Day After Thanksgiving + 1 floating holiday of choice (Presidents Day, Indigenous Peoples Day, or Veterans Day)

    • Two weeks of paid holidays at the end of the year

  • Quarterly profit share (contingent upon profitability on the business)

  • Referral bonus for clients new to Elevate

  • Longevity bonus for minimum 3 years of employment at Elevate

  • Annual professional development and training budget

  • 401k (Elevate will match up to 4%), which can be applied to qualified student loan payments, if applicable (per SECURE 2.0 Act)
